I like the idea of Secret Service enrichment activities being exactly like dog enrichment. They just release a bunch of Government mooks into a room with some of those doggie treats puzzles, but I stead of beggin strips, it’s full of domestic terrorists addresses.

To be honest, physical virility isn’t that important to me.

The only reason that aspect matters to me re:trump is that he claims to be healthy and of certain dimensions, but clearly isn’t.

No matter what your physical self is, as long as you don’t pretend to be fuckin superman, you can have my vote if I can get on board with your policies.

I had a conversation with a guy that seemed sort of amused by Trump’s BS so we started talking about it and he acted like he was above it all. Then he mentioned how at least Trump was tough and when I pushed back he brought up the time Biden ‘fell off his bike’. To him that was a legitimate argument for who we should have as a leader.

I thought you were saying it’s hard to fall of a bike at first, like you’d be a dumbass to even do that. Now I see you’re saying it HURTS! I can get onboard with that as I still have a road rash scar on my hip from falling off at high speed on my daily commute 10 years ago.

To be fair, I was being a dumbass: going way too fast in the rain and not paying enough attention, so when I swerved out of the way of an oncoming bike, I hit the bike path kerb and went rolling down the sidewalk. You can’t really last minute swerve on 2 wheels.

Double dumbass because I wasn’t wearing a helmet and could have been so much worse, but at the time I was most upset about tearing the shoulder off my favourite jacket…

Conservatives don’t mind being blatantly hypocritical, though. They’d support it with some rationalization. Just look at their subs on reddit, for example… constant whining about being ‘censored’ when they’re downvoted on other subs, but their subs would be ‘flaired users only’ and when people dared to disagree with whatever BS in other posts, very swiftly permanently banned.

Honestly I think it’s fine, smart, and like they said, a little bit funny.

If some portion of Trump’s audience is on Truth Social, it makes a reasonable amount of sense to go there with targeted messaging for them. Posting clips of Republicans complimenting Biden or criticizing Trump is a good way to stir up a bit of division amongst Republicans, and it shows that the Democrats aren’t afraid of Trump’s echo chamber.

On the plus side, it won’t be long before they get banned for trashing Trump, and that’ll only show what completely spineless bitch asses the far right are.

I doubt Biden will get banned. It’d be much better to just shadowban or at least limit the amount of exposure. You accomplish the same thing without looking like you are censoring.

Banning will give lots of Republicans cognitive dissonance since this platform and other right wing platforms that are slowly being legitimized like Rumble heavily use free speech in their marketing.

Easy to ban and ignore regular people, but banning a president will inevitably end up on the news. Maybe Trump will decide that the media exposure will be good anyways, though. Any PR is good PR has essentially been Trump’s main strategy since 2015.

You don’t have to click on a far-right video. You can also get them when you click on a progressive video, or a medical video, or a gaming video.

When Amazon first introduced their “People who liked X also liked Y” feature, it was hilariously easy to manipulate. You could just spam links back and forth and within a few minutes, “People who liked The King James Bible also like A Hand in the Bush: The Lost Art of Vaginal Fisting”.

It didn’t take too long for them to put a stop to it but decades later, are we actually sure content suggestion algorithms are any better at withstanding manipulation?

The far-right aren’t exactly good people so I doubt they’re saying “Sure, I openly celebrate mass shooters that target minorities but I draw the line at using sleazy techniques manipulate content suggestions”.

Usually the ones I see are clearly fishing for vulnerable people; a practise they put a huge amount of time, money and effort into.

They’re active in conspiracy groups because it’s a good place to find unmedicated schizophrenics.

They’re active in gaming groups because it’s a good place to find lonely, disaffected young men.

They’re active in anti-vax groups because they’re a good place to find uneducated, paranoid people.

They’re active in fundamentalist circles because it’s a good place to find bigots.

I’ve found that going anywhere near any of those topics will cause the algorithm to start baiting its hook.

I made the mistake of watching a nice little old guy showing how to collect and refine clay. In his video, I got an ad from Epoch times about their new anti-trans smear piece, and two videos from some dude saying that a Democrat planned global food shortage was going to subdue the resistant population so here is why you need solar panels and colloidal silver. The website in the ad went to a single page that tried to sell me “free” trump gold bars that would skyrocket in value. No other links on the page worked. Needless to say, I reported all the ads, but YouTube is still running this harmful and scam-bait content.

I’m really happy to see this: The pushing of conservatives off silicon-valley platforms is magnifying the polarization in America because people went from algorithmic filter bubbles to true information bubbles. The Internet is very much bifurcated into conservative and liberal echo chambers. It’s a small step but it’s a step.

this isn’t why America is divided what lol. It’s divided because of misinformation and an education system that is totally failed so critical thinking is fucked.

It’s divided because people believe every whacked out conspiracy theory and even policy makers make policy on said conspiracies.

It’s divided because the super wealthy want to remain in power and it’s easy for them since money is allowed in politics.

Biden joining Truth Social is just plain comedy.
