Since it’s been so heavily associated with young women and queer folk for like 15+ years
Like obviously the only people who could ever be invested in a potentially queer relationship in a show would be horny straight dudes
And now, in the contemporary world, feeemales being lesbians in committed and mutually loving relationships enrages chuds to the point that anime studios have to dial it back and talk about “friendship rings” so the studio doesn’t burn down.
There was no dialing down we almost never had lesbians in anime
Oh, that kind of shipping. Before I clicked I thought this was going to be an ad for FedEx or something
but like, done in this 90s X-treme!!! way with guys in uniforms doing backflips out of FedEx planes and skateboarding while balancing a stack of packages and slamming a mountain dew

“If these politically correct Hollywood liberals had any respect for basic biological science, they’d know that it’s highly unlikely that a female would have the necessary upper body strength required to kill a real vampire.”
Xena: Warrior Roommate
And/or “Good Friend”
Is there a boy version of a fujoshi?
Obviously it would be fudanshi
Edit: According to wiktionary:
fudanshi (“male fan of yaoi”)
Some old ass MAL thread says 姫男子(himedanshi) is for a male yuri fan. I have to restrain myself from responding to half of the bad takes I see on MAL, so super skeptical if that’s the real deal lol.
It’s being picked up by my 10ten reader addon so I guess it is
姫男子 ひめだんし (n) (rare) male fan of yuri comics, etc.
Lady who likes male gay romance = rotten girl
Dude who likes female gay romance = princess boy
Himejoshi is the usual term for female fans of yuri, himejoshi is becoming more common (in my western yuri circles).
I get the impression fujoshi is an exonym, himejoshi is an endonym, and the dan variants are just gender swaps
