I was hungry asf.

But damn, got some white rice, beef, and some veggies (cucumber and radish) all with that signature sauce that Vietnamese restaurants usually have (I’m not sure what it’s called).

And by the Vietnamese gods, it was amazing.

Just like eating it at the restaurant itself; still nice and warm (but then again, the restaurant was nearby my area).

Came in a white plastic container or whatever material you call it.

Oh God, I look back fondly on that meal I had almost an hour ago today.

I was soooooooooooo hungry too and now I’m not.

How is it that you can feel horrible when you’re hungry (physically and emotionally) and then feel content and all is right with the world after having eaten?

Dunno… Just don’t know…

Anyway, how you all doing? And what did you all eat today (so far)?

Asian food is the best in the world, at least when you’re vegan. I wish I was capable of cooking. I had some Mien Tron today. It was so good!

Cut out dairy and eggs first if possible, they’re far far far more cruel. Only eat meat coming from big animals so less murder happens for the amount of meat. Don’t go a cheese breather vegetarian as a “more moral” option, because it’s far worse for the animals.

          “cheese breather vegetarian”?

I’m, err, out of the loop on that one!

But yeah, for the record, I’m not sure if I want to go vegetarian at all (because I don’t think I have the willpower to do so and, also, it’s a big decision to make that I’m just not ready for… well, yet, anyway).

So for now, I want to eventually go vegan.

But yeah, I’m putting a star on your reply so I can save it for later. Thanks!

There’s a weird cult of vegetarians whose entire life and personality revolves around ludicrous consumption of cheese. Cheese is absolutely addictive, I felt withdrawal when going vegan.

How is vegan easier than vegetarian?

Also, on another note, you’re definitely right about Asian food basically being primed for good vegan and vegetarian cuisine.

Lots of good vegan hot pot too, I hear (like, Chinese hot pot, to be exact).

I had leftover falafel and rice and hummus from a food truck. The servings are always big enough for two meals and the guy knows I’m vegan so he replaces the tzatziki with more hummus. I mix it all together and it’s very good comfort food.

Banh Mi is a top 5 all time food for me. Like, fuck all that silly Asian fusion stuff they pushed in the 90’s, that’s the ultimate combination of Eastern and Western flavors.

Had coffee, more coffee, plain sandwich, yogurt, granola bar. Also, they gave me some cake at work for my birthday.

Yeah. I got it from a place I was following up with in regards to a job. While I was there, they gave it to me on the house, and the manager said she really thought I’d be a good addition to the team, but she said that she took someone else for the position because her own boss favored that candidate instead. It honestly sucked because this job search has been an absolute fucking cancer, so to lose the opportunity with a place of employment that seemingly saw good in me hit hard. The coffee was nice, though, I guess.

          Oh wtf

          Wow, tough day, comrade…

Happy job-hunting, I suppose; have you tried a library? For a job, I mean? There tend to be a lot in my area; not sure how it is in yours.

But they’re good for jobs if you need, well, any job (but one that doesn’t suck in quality).

Frankly, they allow anyone that’s interested in books and, well, you’re in one big book club (Marxist-Leninist community) so it shouldn’t be too bad (your chances, I mean).

Besides, they have positions outside of just standing at the desk and if you say that you’re against book bans and want to help out, that might up your chances.

all with that signature sauce that Vietnamese restaurants usually have (I’m not sure what it’s called).

Nuoc Cham (im not putting the accents in there, pronounced sorta like Nook Chum), basically a combination of fish sauce, sugar, lime and thai chilis. the litteral translation would be dipping water(sauce). a lot of vietnamese foods have a (general food family) (specific name or word) to name food, so a lot of sauces or drinks will start with nuoc (water), and a lot of bread or noodle dishes start banh (bread)

gonna agree with everyone in here recommending banh mi, those are just so good. Try the spring rolls with the peanut sauce, those are amazing too and can be made vegetarian or vegan. the mama brand instant pho noodles are really good too if you add some fixins and hoisin sauce, I had those yesterday

Oh God, the spring rolls that this place near me serves are great.

They’re a bit large too; just the right size without being too small or too large.

I’ve got a serious question for you. Why do you spam crossposts to every random comm you can think of? It is obviously not welcome and you don’t seem to change no matter how many times your posts get removed.

Noice. I honestly have never ordered food from GrubHub or Uber eats. Always seems like a waste of money since I could just get it myself
