Social media always was dicey but mega sites like Facebook and Twitter etc have really dumped everyone in the same pot. Back in the day if I wanted to avoid g*mer bullshit I just wouldn’t go to their forums etc.
FB and Twitter are the absolute worst at the moment, at least with youtube you can to some degree train the algorithm to stop recommending you reactionary horseshit. But with FB/Twitter it’s an endless barrage of promoted brainworm content
