It took three ER visits and 20 hours before a hospital admitted Nevaeh Crain, 18, as her condition worsened. Doctors insisted on two ultrasounds to confirm “fetal demise.” She’s one of at least two Texas women who died under the state’s abortion ban.
She was having abdominal pains while pregnant and the doctor diagnosed her with strep throat.
They don’t give a shit about women.
I bet the doctor wanted to still bill the insurance company for a visit but couldn’t bill it as “woman having a miscarriage, about to die of blood poisoning” so called it strep throat so they still get paid.
It’d be nice if this was all over corporate news instead of just propublica.
But I think we know why it’s not.

Hurting women is the whole goal with Republicans’ abortion bans. This isn’t just a tragedy, this is the intended outcome and what a bit under half the country wants the rest of the country to be like.

In sane countries cases like this end up with lifting abortion bans.
