The burnt toast is likely a mistaken reference to a Canadian Heritage Minute about an epileptic woman who smelled burnt toast when she had seizures. A pioneering neurosurgeon kept his patients awake while probing their exposed brain to find and burn out malfunctioning nerves. It is actually epilepsy not a stroke that the burnt toast thing is associated with, not that everyone with epilepsy smells burnt toast, that was just the famous one that most Canadians of a certain age will know.

Here it is for anyone curious. https://youtu.be/pUOG2g4hj8s

  • I hope for limitless aid to the Palestinians to help them recover and let the Israeli govt rot in endless boycotts, sanctions and complete divestment by all foreign entities.

They should be shunned internationally so only other pariah states like North Korea will deal with them. Unfortunately for at least the next 4 years or more that is unlikely to happen and the most I hope for is that Palestinians survive long enough to be given their homeland back when a reckoning comes.

  • I would laugh at the schadenfreude if they introduced legislation to remove the citizenship of anyone whose family came to the country illegally, only to the have to report a ton more people some of whom would be white people who voted for him not thinking about the fact that their grandparents might have come in illegally.

My mother came to Canada from Ireland and when racist people she has volunteered or worked with have complainted about immigrants to her she just straight up ask them if that’s what they think about her. They almost always stammer something about how she doesn’t count somehow as an immigrant even though she is 100% an immigrant.

  • These were probably originally drawn from organs pulled out of cadavers and sketched or drawn while laid out on a table.

When we think of organs we think of them all separate like we see in books instead of the truth that they are all jammed together with no open space to see.
