Title. I’ve been dealing with it for months now and it feels like it’s getting worse. Just curious if anyone else here ever had it and got rid of it?
You could try some anti fungal vaginal cream. Might get some weird looks buying it, but it’s worth a shot.
anti fungal vaginal cream
Alright makes sense
Orchiectomy, best decision I’ve ever made
Might wanna look into your underwear situation. Get 100% cotton, avoid synthetic fabrics that don’t breath properly
Tough Actin’ Tinactin!
Lots of anti-dandruff shampoos can be used for jock itch. You want something that has selenium sulfide or zinc pyrithione in it. The higher concentration the better (as long as you’re buying it off the shelf in a grocery store anyway).
Apply the shampoo to the affected area. Leave it to sit for the time stated on the bottle or longer because that really is not going to do you any harm. If you really want to knock it on its head apply the shampoo before you shower so it doesn’t get diluted by the water and let it sit on your skin for a few minutes and then jump in the shower.
Rinse off. Dry your skin thoroughly, paying close attention to the affected skin areas. I’d recommend using a hairdryer or a fan to dry your skin in these areas completely before you get dressed. Repeat this daily until the itching and skin discolouration is gone then continue with the treatment for at least a couple of days longer.
Keep the shampoo bottle in your shower and if you notice any itching starting up again, apply another round of the shampoo as a maintenance thing and you should be good.
If this doesn’t work then see a doctor/speak to a pharmacist and bring out the heavier stuff. But you might be surprised at how effective antidandruff shampoo can be and you can get a huge amount of treatment for only a couple of dollars. Probably less if you can find antidandruff shampoo in the dollar store where you are.
I used Lotrimin athlete’s foot spray back in the day. I was kind of starved for choice, but it worked
Noted, ty
If you’re dealing with moisture, just try gold bond?
Whether you get a medicated cream/spray or not, be sure to keep yourself clean and DRY to make yourself less hospitable to the fun guys. Good luck
also a good idea to keep underwear, towels and bed sheets in a separate laundry hamper and wash them separately from other clothes with a laundry sanitizer and ideally at a high temperature.
Lamisil
store-brand clotrimazole
Clotrimazole. I often have had it prescribed in the past, but it’s just sold as Lotrimin over the counter. Works wonders. This used to happen to me every other summer, and the Clotrimazole would clear it up within days.
Not sure if you know what’s causing it or not. For me, I got in the habit of wearing jeans during the hot, humid summers because I wanted to be hip and cool and I look not good in shorts. Jock itch would inevitably start until I finally got it in my head to just wear shorts in the summer, who cares how I look. Also, while you’re trying to clear it up, make sure you dry really really well down there. Like dry it, then dry it again, then dry it again. Obviously you should keep that area dry in general, but for now just try to make sure it’s extra dry.
Hmm, these “jock” itches often occur due to diabites, microscopic bites left by the dilosycus crawler. These bites are actually the dilosycus implanting miniature eggs bellow your “jock” skin. They incubate for about 3-4 months before hatching and crawling down the urethra.
