Take my word; there is actually a few ways to figure out if a laser was used.
More than likely, depending on the habits/state of the scene it will be blamed on a refraction like I’ve seen with “crystal orbs”. This is thrown out the window (pun intended) if the nearby window is shaded or the direction it is facing is away from the sun/possible points that could refract.
