Strangely the right wingers got something almost correct for a change. It’s true that the concept of “race” is both racist and artificial. It’s how you were raised that largely determines your culture. Obama wouldn’t fit in in Africa. True. But he was raised as an American. THAT MEANS HE’S AMERICAN.

Born in America = American
Born in a different country and moved to America at young age and spent a considerable amount of time growing up in America = American
Immigrated at an older age to America and have their citizenship = American
Immigrated at an older age to America and do not have their citizenship = Trying to become American
