There isn’t a solution because humans are inherently lazy and fact checking requires effort. When the majority of your consumer base doesn’t care, then there’s no financial incentive to care on the part of the publishers. Maybe I’m being too nihilistic, but that’s how I see it these days.

College students are required to cite everything and no plagiarism or bullshitting allowed, and everything must be spelled correctly.
