Apparently the one I just had on /politics trying to get liberals to understand that USAID is literally colonialism.
’Where is imperialism?” Look at your plates when you eat. These imported grains of rice, corn, and millet – that is imperialism.
“The root of the disease was political. The treatment could only be political. Of course, we encourage aid that aids us in doing away with aid. But in general, welfare and aid policies have only ended up disorganizing us, subjugating us, and robbing us of a sense of responsibility for our own economic, political, and cultural affairs. We chose to risk new paths to achieve greater well-being.”
Obligatory Thomas Sankara
Actually sweaty, it’s called US-AID Aid means to help people? Obviously it’s a good thing, like the patriot act! Patriots are great and so is aid you evil tankie!
You’re filled with hate. Why?
Because unlike you awful tankies, I’m a special free thinker, it’s my freezepeach right to be hateful!
Takes like this really are weird because it’s not even hidden. Was it this kind of thing: https://connectusfund.org/20-advantages-and-disadvantages-of-foreign-aid-to-developing-countries. Where the writer doesn’t unpack the contradictions like claiming that giving aid increases the independence of the receiving state while requiring it to export a high percentage of it’s produce to the giver state?
Doesn’t sound very independent to my if you give me $100 but then I have to work for you for two days a week at less than minimum wage. In fact, it sounds very much like you’re only giving me the $100 so that you can control me. On a country scale, one might call that (neo)colonialism but the author in the link doesn’t follow it through.
Funny how they can identify all the facts but refuse to rely on those facts when coming to a conclusion. It’s an uphill struggle, for sure!
