I hold true that the utilitarian car has been perfected with the Volvo 940 and all subsequent R&D should’ve flown into either making it more efficient (you do not get to change a single shape even the tiniest fucking bit) or develop EV engine swap kits that could be installed by a 10 year old with a lift
Seriously!!! My partner has a forester that they have filled with field equipment for their job. I have a VW Golf that I have hauled Christmas trees on top of. We will both empty out trunks and put our seats down so we can lug our trash to the dump or bags of mulch back from the nursery.
I don’t need a 4ft bed and 8 inch lift to do normal labor with my vehicles.
There’s no better way to tell people you don’t actually do physical labor than a 4’ bed.
A minivan with the back row of seats removed is a superior work vehicle to this thing in every imagineble way.
Or a station wagon… both alternatives you don’t have to lift as high to get stuff in the back either.
You’re talking to a guy with a kiddie pool full of sand in the back of his Subaru outback to sand icy driveways.
Plus whatever your carrying isn’t exposed to the elements so the sand isn’t frozen solid when you need it.

If you have a crew cab truck with a short bed you have just ruined much of the purpose of having a truck!
I use an '89 Nissan as my work vehicle. Many of my coworkers who use modern pickups take twice as long to load the bed lol
