    I can’t recall if regular contract soldiers or mobilized got a right to leave other than on a two weeks vacation per half-a-year of warfare before going back. Recently their wives got declined of holding a peaceful protest about that in most cities. I’m sure, they read articles like that, but their frustration is yet to overwhelm their indifference and fear. At the same time, prisoners not meant to get back alive get free. Why? I feel like obligations with them can’t be broken because it would cause a less subtle wave of disobedience and hurt the recruiting efforts, per their internal communications about that, while eternally prolonging a contract with free men surprisingly doesn’t hurt thst much, because even their loved ones drink cool aid and can’t imagine demanding something from the state. By how absurd it is you can tell it’s real.
