He stated it perfectly.

Who fucking cares? His opinion matters about as much as anyone elses. This shit is no different than a Walmart stockers opinion of Trump. The difference being the stockers opinion doesn’t end up put in the fucking news. Robert Dinero is not a political scientist, he’s not a former politician, he’s not a psychologist.

Why is some overpaid actors opinion on who we should elect president being considered important? We should stop worshipping these dillusional overpaid children with no concept of what reality is like for the rest of us. This is no different than asking Ja Rule about 9/11

The headline for this should be “Old Guy Who Reads Lines Someone Else Wrote in Front of Camera has Opinion.”

Then why the fuck is this news worthy? He holds no authority nor credibility to speak on politics so why the hell is his opinion worthy of a news article posted on lemmy politics?

Since I’m a buffoon explain it to me

Because he’s a name people recognize, people like him, and, as much as I don’t like it, Trump’s name in articles gets clicks. Maybe you view it as more of a tabloid article, but if you could maybe stop being so argumentative about it for ten or fifteen seconds, you’d realize the man actually said something pretty damn good. And made you’d think the same of Joe Schmoo down the street if you paused to listen. Not everyone needs to be an expert in order to speak and have a platform.

No one is saying he’s wrong. The problem is we give too much merit to the opinions of the rich and famous only because they’re rich and famous.

We shouldn’t be listening to Leonardo Di’capprio about global warming even if he is right. We should be listening to scientists

So many downvotes, and you make perfect sense. If we didn’t have so much ridiculous celebrity worship in this country, that stupid, unqualified orange buffoon never would have become president in the first place.

cunts shouldn’t be anything, much less President… how about that… is that simple enough for your chimp brain…

maybe things are different where you’re from… where people like you squawk about political science like you give a shit…

Robert Dinero is not a political scientist, he’s not a former politician, he’s not a psychologist.

Lack of expertise has never stopped him before -

(I feel like I need to preemptively clarify - fuck Trump, but also fuck De Niro, I agree, his opinion is not only entirely irrelevant and definitely not news, but also several years too late. Why anyone cares what he has to say is beyond me)
