      Ultimately it’s a pretty innocuous thing though

    eh, if it means people know they’re the real account, and it prioritizes their messages in timelines/search/etc, it’s probably worth giving twitter $8 or whatever even though elon’s a shitlord

    I see it pretty differently for orgs than people

    Wasn’t this quickly pointed out to be caused by the name change of the account? The check mark poofs on name change, until it’s manually verified. Likely because people kept impersonating the twat.

    Yeah musk is shit, but this isn’t news. It’s… just how the site has worked for a while.
