lmao half of these games mock conservativism and the right-wing.

Fallout 3 - American anti-communism will lead to societal breakdown of the democratic order, as the failings of capitalism will require a dictatorship of fascism to sustain itself.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R - A game about nihilism, the destruction of the soviet union causing a depression deep into Slavic identify, and the need to find a future in wasteland devoid of caring or humanity.

Bioshock - The contradictions of libertarianism will result in a society governed by a social-Darwinism doctrine, power will be held by ruthless, bloodthirsty despots with money behind their backs, there is no freedom nor representation.

Dawn of War - A game about warhammer 40k which depicts a fascist rotten empire self-harming itself due to its inhumane cruelty. Religion is a tool, oppression is the means, and ethnic supremacy as a mechanism.

Killzone - A game about a corporation turned fascist to justify its own expansionism and imperialism.

Metal gear rising- how just how do you even think this is conservative? Its one of the most on the nose games ranting about US imperialism and conservative politics taking a slide into fascism, like you intentionally must be devoid of thinking if you put this as a conservative game.

All these games sure look like they’re all about conservatism here, and the other half are boomer shooters.

Bioshock explicitly parodies Ayn Rand, it’s literally a take on what happens after her “Strike” of the “elites”

At least they could’ve made the effort of putting up the two next opus aka “carl marcs is a religious leader” and “plot twist guerilla fighters against ultra racist ultra religious society is bad actually”

STALKER is right wing and is made in Ukraine, sorry chief. The orginal IP was made during the USSR but the games are post-USSR ukranian made games and the newest one is probably going to have a shit ton of anti-russian stuff in it considering some of the devs died in the war.

Bioshock - The contradictions of libertarianism will result in a society governed by a social-Darwinism doctrine, power will be held by ruthless, bloodthirsty despots with money behind their backs, there is no freedom nor representation.

Id argue for this one too, it rags on libertarianism but it puts a single induvidual actor as the cure for it, this is liberalism.

Fallout 3 - American anti-communism will lead to societal breakdown of the democratic order, as the failings of capitalism will require a dictatorship of fascism to sustain itself.

Counter point, the amount of shitters going BETTER DEAD THAN RED from 3 and also NVs fash fan base who suck off the ceaser and that other faction who jokermodes about white nationalism people take seriously

I don’t think so, tbh. It was made back in the day, when Ukraine wasn’t full fash, and the memory of USSR dissolution was still kinda fresh. It perfectly captures the spirit of post-Soviet states: life is a bleak ruin of something once bright, and we all struggle against it and each other in search of non-existent wish granter. I’m not sure, of course, if devs intended it to read like this, but it does, especially for those of us who actually live in post-Soviet states. It’s a deeply melancholic series.

The new one will 100% be full fash, however.

New one is going to be full fash, not innovative or complex at all in its mechanics (critics will deem it a passable shooter), and it will rely on sLaVa cOcAiNi for its marketing mark my words

Yeah thats fair and more compelling, im a big fan of the roadside picnic series and also those authors other works (hard to be a god)

Its a shame to see the IP being used for cynical political reasons detatched and counter to the orginal soviets who made that IP, who while critical of the USSR still existed within it and advocated for a lot of its good too.

I grew up with Strugatsky bros’ books and I love them deeply. Though I don’t really consider Stalker to be the same IP, it’s “inspired by” at best.

The books are here to stay, thankfully, and so are the older games. The dipshit devs won’t take them away. And the new one is a write-off.
