None for me this week. Is anyone reading Batman: The Long Halloween right now? I keep noticing it in the store and am curious about it.
I read the first few issues of it, it’s been a good read, but I’m going to wait for it to finish so I can power through the whole thing.
Big fan of all the Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale stuff, RIP Sale. :(
Missed one:
The War #1 by Eisner winners Garth Ennis and Becky Cloonan:
https://www.boom-studios.com/archives/the-war-series-announcement/
This story originally appeared serialized in the anthology title “Hello Darkness”, it ran seven parts in issues #1-6 and 8.
The basic premise is four couples shooting the shit over dinner, talking politics and the war in Ukraine… aaaand a nuclear war breaks out.
Think “zombie holocaust story” only no zombies. Four couples trying to figure out how to survive.
#1 reprints parts 1-3, it’s unclear to me if they are planning on expanding it or just wrapping it up with #2 next month.
Edit Apparently it will be 3 issues total. Still not sure how they are going to spread it out that far as the story is only 7 parts and #1 has 1-3 in it.
Be warned: Hello Darkness and The War are SUPER dark. This is not a story for the sensitive. Ennis has written some deeply fucked up things, this is more fucked up than most.
