Anyone heard anymore about opening satellite animal shelters around the city? This sounded like a great idea when it was proposed by city council, but I haven’t read anything about it since. Maybe it’s part of the “strategic plan” mentioned in the article.
The current shelter probably wouldn’t be so full if it wasn’t out in the middle of nowhere. Surely having to drive out there affects volunteering as well. I’m hoping we get smaller satellite shelters in each district at some point. It should lighten the load and increase adoption.
