I don’t think so. It’s all a show, for us to be afraid of our consequences, rather than reflecting on institutions and systems, and the consequences of those collective actions.

        So our options are becoming:

Toil for 70 years until you’re forced to liquidate everything you have to move into a shitty retirement home or become a burden on any children you may’ve had.

Drop out of society and refuse to cooperate, facing all the consequences that entails.

Complete a single task that promises 3 meals per day, climate controlled shelter, basic healthcare and the adoration of fans across the country?

Seems like they’re making the choice easy for a lot of people.

The way they’ve handled him you’d think they were hauling the Joker in and out of court or something.

What’s the source for the obviously biased article about the twisted women? Takes me back to when they called protesters “thugs” during the Floyd protests.

Dunno if it’s AI generated but the choice of expression sounds like how a lot of porn videos are titled, e.g. “Dangerous intimacy for this peculiar tart”, the kinds of laughable titles a human wouldn’t naturally come up with!

Oh, that 100% tracks from that rag. By comparison, a similar article from NPR was a lot more careful about it, e.g. “Mangione has received widespread public support, despite state and federal officials discouraging it.” Good lesson in identifying bias.

NPR even had the message Luigi sent out thanking his supporters, which I think is nice.

Agnifilo argues against this decision. He is a model prisoner

The way the clothes they wear are flying off the shelves, and Luigi’s outstanding photogenic quality, you bet they’re a model prisoner.

All just ammo for the appeal.

The shooter calmly walked away, and Luigi was arrested calmly in a McDonald’s.

At no stage was there some crazy escape or shootout where something like this would be warranted in court, and things like this have been argued to have influenced potential jury members in past cases.

Like, it’s one straw on a giant pile of better examples so far, but it all adds up. They’re gonna OJ this shit and go so hard it ends in a mistrial or something crazy.

Especially since the trial is going to be a media circus and Trump won’t be able to keep his nose out of it, it’ll kill him that he won’t be the main attraction.

The thing is, support for Luigi crosses party lines. It might be what causes a maga fracture if everything falls right.

There’s not going to be a mistrial. This is going to be the most cooked trial you’ve ever seen in your life. Every single juror is going to vote guilty no matter what happens. Through bribery or threats it will happen. You can book it.

It’s improbable that there won’t be jury tampering, but the public support for this fella is pretty hard to deny.

He’s a patriot, what higher truth can you speak to power than the great equalizer, a cheaply produced firearm?

He’s a hero, they’ll make a martyr of him, we’ll make sure his name is remembered and other disaffected, isolated men at the end of their chains can have a new target. Instead of school children it can be someone more appropriate. What good is having power and privilege if you have to look over your shoulder while you’re at the lake? What good is a yearly bonus if you have to pay it all to private security to protect your families lives?

We have far less to lose than they do, I can (hypothetically) only die once but with a little luck I can extract a very high price from a rent-seeking leech before I do.

TBF he was arrested calmly in a McDonalds in the next state over with a bag filled with $20,000 cash. Idk if that on its own warrants treating him as such a flight risk to warrant handcuffs, or maybe if this is just federal custody protocol, but either way I get it.
