      DECO*27 has a similar syntax that is sometimes seen used by boybands, and the number in those cases represents how many members there are in the band.

      From what i have seen, it’s mostly kpop bands, but funnily enough, since that’s not my type of music, the only example I can remember right now is the Jackson 5

        Ah thanks. And DECO*27 is a group with a different number of members? (Presumably less?) At least, that’s what ‘people have misunderstood that “DECO*27” is a group’ would seem to imply.
