i think the often cited “opposition to hierarchy, domination, and (illegitimate) authority” is very much the negative phrasing of “maximising consent”. after all, what are these things if not the taking away of peoples ability to decide on the matters that affect them; the forcing onto people the will of others?

i think both the positive as well as the negative phrasing still miss out on other values i would consider crutial to anarchism, like the equality of all values being applied to all and the solidarity of community, cooperation, and shared struggle, but i suppose going into all of that might be a bit much for minimal definition (if the purpose of the definition is to be minimal)

i don’t know, there is a whole world out there with an interest to manipulate, exploit, and abuse children (and people generally). a few parents can only do so much to protect their children from that. they need support from a larger community.

of course parents in this case are horrible and abusive and not fighting some actual big evil, and states are a pretty bad replacement for actual community support.

i don’t like nuclear, mostly because of how it creates this highly dangerous waste, that our ancestors will still have trouble with (and thinking about it, is probably mined in a similarly destructive way to coal?), but i got to say that nuclear power plants actually lool fine to me and their vapour is actually quite pretty and scenic imo. ofc i would not want it everywhere, but its fine. i would not base my opinion of nuclear on that.

i’m not super informed on those subjects, but i did not mean to imply that humanity is not currently relying on animal cruelty. my point is just that we should not increase that relience. i think we should really do everything we can to minimize it (short of killing/starving ourselves)
