Science isn’t about WHY! It’s about WHY NOT! In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won’t hit you in the butt on the way out because you’re fired.

They can’t canonically exist midair
Obviously its on a glass panel smh. Although I always assumed it was all blue/orange on the back, same as the edge
They can only exist on specific non transparent walls.
