Hoping this would be more based, but its still decent

edit: okay the part about the nuke is cringe

“we” should put atomic bombs in orbit around mars with the orders to strike the landing site of any craft containing earth life within minutes of touch down

if “some country” decides to send a mission to mars anyway even if “we’ve” made it illegal

Yankees are the most sociopathic arrogant people on earth

the impulse to save martian life if it exists is good and all but I was really hoping he’d say explode the dipshits trying to land there beforehand, not nuke the site from orbit. and I was really hoping there’d be more of a landback aspect to it considering it went up for indigenous peoples day. I guess that’s way too much to expect out of a white yankee living in rural nevada on said stolen land.

I used to watch Cody’s Lab regularly, not so much anymore. I think at one point he and his girlfriend had split up, and he was having a hard time with it, and watching him sorta felt like I was gawking at him. It’s been long enough back that I’m not even sure if what I felt was correct or not but I’ve just never gone back to watching him.

A former coworker of mine who is pretty fucking right wing (he used to wear the proud boy collared shirt/braces/boots to work, and had the 3%’er logo or whatever tattooed over his heart) told me that Cody was right wing, or adjacent around the same time I was watching and so it just sorta reinforced what I felt… to be honest I have no idea if it’s true or not. Maybe I just grew out of watching him/his content. I dunno.

I never really got that feeling that he was right wing but I wouldn’t say I’m super confident either way. He is from like, rural nevada or whatever, so even if he’s not conservative, it’s pretty hegemonic and he doesn’t seem interested in pushing back from the left. That period where he was super depressed was definitely a downer, but like, shit happens and clearly he didn’t have a lot of other outlets

basically he discussed this idea others have floated of nuking any landing site of human-manned missions from orbit to prevent the contamination of mars life with earth bacteria, etc. Mostly as a deterrent/last line of defense, and he didn’t exactly endorse it but like wtf lol

I guess with no atmosphere/magnetosphere there’s already a lot of radiation hitting there but I can’t imagine a nuke wouldn’t be devastating there as it is on earth…
