Was thinking about David Cronenberg’s Scanners today. It could make a good series I think.
What movies do you think would work well as a recurring tv series?
The Truman Show. I’ve practically developed the first three seasons in my mind already.
maybe a tangential implementation is “Jury Duty”
Great show.
They’re actually making a TV version of Upgrade (the 2018 film). The same creator is involved so it could be good fun.
That’s great news. I loved the movie but it didn’t get a lot of attention.
That’s the best news I’ve heard all day. We re-watched Upgrade this week and it really holds up.
I guess I’m starting with a book technically but Battle Royale would have made a better TV series than movie, the movie doesn’t have time to delve into that many characters and the little side characters are what made the book so good.
I’m surprised it hasn’t been done, considering Squid Game’s success with a similar dystopian survival game show plot.
Primer.
They could change the events to keep it fresh, maybe even change the characters (they do seem to do that). and create a whole new mind-boggling maze of timelines. As long as they explained who was from which timeline I’d be happy.
Loved primer. You could have whole episodes of them messing with each other with time travel during the power struggle.
Dune. You can’t capture the complexities of that book in a movie. You can smudge a lot details into scenes of Timothée Chalamet staring intensely at beautiful CGI scenery, but it misses a lot.
Knives Out
Serenity.
(I know Firefly was already a show. I want more… 😭)
Inception
(hard mode: say Tennet is same world)
