8·12 days agoPeople’s fucking speech patterns are being affected by big brother and they are genuinely just ok with it. I don’t know how to explain to someone that changing the way you talk changes the way you think and you are letting corpos do that to you. AND THEN THEY GO AND DEFEND IT.
What are you talking about with free speech absolutists? I think you are trying to reach a different audience than Lemmy because I think most people here think that’s stupid.

When I was at a point where I genuinely considered killing myself instead of going into work I was doing that like everytime I woke up. I sat in bed debating if going to work was worth it or if I could just end it.
Especially since we still don’t know how information preservation works in a black hole. There are ideas yes but we still aren’t sure if any of them are even right.

1·16 days agoPeople have deluded themselves into thinking that the Fediverse is so small no government entity cares enough to set up a simple instance that just sits there and sucks up data. It might not even be being used at the moment but the moment they want to it would be easier than most people realize to connect their account to an individual.

3·17 days agoUnless you start paying them at the same level YouTube is no. The problem with peertube adoption by big creators is almost entirely monitary because if they were able to make money with it they would solve the other problems that come from it.
That would genuinely be a killer feature for piefed.

You’re probably not wrong. I don’t think I was ever as “into” tiktok as some people are seeing as I didn’t even really notice dropping it that much.

I’m always a sticker peraon but the math behind selling stickers is stupid from what I’ve heard content creators say.
I mean they are being fined 500$ a day. Thats what 25000$ a day in total? That’s a significant amount of money.
