There is a difference between the close proximity of military and civilian infrastructure because of a high population density and actively choosing hospitals as military bases.

Well, it‘s actually true that Hamas uses civil infrastructure and civilians as shields, you can’t deny that. Of course that doesn‘t mean that Israel can just bomb everything.

Hamas wants this war to continue, so they probably won’t release all hostages any time soon. They want an offensive of Israel in Gaza with as many Palestinian civil casualties as possible. This gets them more sympathy, support and in turn increases the global pressure and critique on Israel.

Public transport needs much less space than cars. Especially if you put all the parking lots into the equation. So much space in cities is wasted by cars that do not even move most of the day.

They may be a progressive force (as in a driving force in global politics / dynamics) but that does not mean it has to be positive. And it‘s not cynical if you look at the massive human rights violation, the treatment of opposition or ethical minorities in China. I do not want any of that. But if you want to trade it for a few years of your life go for it.
