That’s a story from thousands of years ago. I don’t think their standards for 1. Death; or 2. Veracity in stories were up to the standards we would like were it non fiction
Grave in this context just means deep. That’s one of the meanings of grave
Brains fail catastrophically and unrecoverably pretty quickly after being starved of oxygen. I don’t like the chances of the frozen people who hope to be reanimated in the future
Better now, maybe. The people in palliative care are drugged heavily if their condition is painful. I suppose it’s different in different places.
The best selfish reason to be good to your children is that they might put you in care. It’s better if you can age and die at home unless you have a really nasty death.
What does gooning mean in this context? To me it’s engaging in the consumption of goon (cheap cask wine (aka box wine)) possibly participating in a game of goon of fortune
psud@aussie.zoneto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What my boss thinks my job isEnglish11·3 days agoSure, no guarantees. I have a great grandfather who died in his 30s from an infection from a shaving cut.
The ancient Greeks a couple of generations after agriculture arrived called the tribal past the golden age when gods walked among men. Early English explorers in America called the natives more splendid than an English gentleman in all his finery.

You pretty much destroy their eyes or ears. There’s a spell that undoes the damage
There’s only a small set of spreadsheets in my work life that need multiuser access, most of those are admin shit.
There are more in my home life, planning holidays, household tracking.
Buy most things at home and work have no need to be shared during update

As a person like that, I’ll apologise on their behalf. We mostly find carnivore through illness and it fixes it, we want everyone around us to feel as good as we do. It’s hard to keep quiet.
But no one thinks the same about statins, for example
It’s not medication, it’s medication that addresses mental illness
Didn’t Herman Cain awardees die of their poor choices?

It’s unpleasant to visit a community where every post and comment is at -15, even if they’re “imaginary points” it makes the community hard to sort
Since Jet started enforcing the “no mass down voting” rule automatically things sit at 0 to +5.
psud@aussie.zoneto Ye Power Trippin' Bastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Banned for voting the wrong wayEnglish62·3 days agoMy take is someone writing this sort of automation is sick of spending hours each day doing the bans manually
What sort of false positive are you worried about when it only bans people whose only interaction has been negative? Regulars have upvoted stuff if they like the community.
Do you ever visit a community and down vote the first thing you see and intend to return?
If you made it to five you’d be fine
It’s pretty well known that the American religious nutters want Israel to rebuild the temple of David so the apocalypse happens. This leads them to support Israel’s actions in general
OTOH Israel will never rebuild the temple, 'cause if they did they would lose the support of the American religious nutters when the apocalypse failed to occur (as apocalypses have so far)
