They’re pointing out the thing adds strong evidence to the arguments they’ve been making for the better part of the last 20 years.
But it doesn’t, really. People like to think of a power of attorney as an all-or-nothing proposition, something that cannot be used at all unless a person’s mentally incapable, but it’s a just legal permission to act in someone’s behalf–something which can be done even if that person is capable of handling a task themselves but chooses not to.
I agree it’s well past time for Feinstein to step down, but the daughter using a power of attorney for a legal matter isn’t the evidence people would like it to be. It would only be “evidence” if there were specific language in the POA about it not taking effect unless Feinstein’s mentally incapable, which seems unlikely.
IMO, if they’re going to make a push for it to be an annual thing, it would be a good idea if the shot were available before school starts in the fall.
