It’s amazing how much Mike’s art has evolved since then.

When the ultra-wealthy are suddenly in need of rentals and start renting regular houses and apartments, those houses can be rented for 5x the price.
The landlords will figure out that by massively increasing the rent, even with 2/3 houses empty, they’ll make more money than they do now.
Yes, they suck.
But what they’re gonna end up doing is renting a class down from what they were going to do, so they’ll end up getting a house that would have been 60 grand a year, but is now 90 grand.
And the people who were going to do that are going to be renting a place that would have been cjlheape4, and so on.
In the end, the price-gouge4s on the high end raise rents for the rest of us. We’ve seen the same thing all over the country with the lack of available-for-purchase single-family homes as more and more places are build-to-rent only. That’s kept renting apartments instead of buying houses, and apartment rents have skyrocketed.
There’s a 1br apartment I rented about 10 years ago for $510/month. I just looked it up and it’s now $1900 a month.
And as awesome as Alice Krige was at the role, her existence completely ruined what made the Borg unique and scary.
They were a collective without individuals. Having a leader just made them another generic villain of the week. And boy did Voyager and Picard run with that.
It’s literally the reason to have juries. It’s the last line of defense against unjust laws.
No. He’s doing this on Putin’s orders.
Greenland is essential for NATO.
Most do not. And most people don’t register their drones with the FAA even when required to.
Mine both have their registration information written on the hull, so if they’re ever found at a crash site, the FAA will know they were mine.
I envy you watching it for the first time.
I think it’s the best film of the 3.
Your legs are gonna fall asleep if you don’t get off the toilet sometime
Yeah. App devs want their products to work on as many phones as possible, so 6yo $100 budget phones can run 99% of apps just fine. The main thing that slows down is the homescreen UI as the manufacturer pushes updates designed to make you want a new phone.
Nothing is more permanent than a temporary fix.
Some would rather die!
That was episode 3. Episode 2 was the one that took place the night before and was basically a gathering of all these characters from 8 years of television who had never been together interacting the night before a battle.
Even if the 13% number were accurate - that’s a pretty damning number. 13% of people supporting someone for gunning down a CEO in cold blood is terrifying to CEOs.
That’s not 13% hating them. That’s 13% of people celebrating someone for killing them. No lawsuits. No trials. Just gunning them down in the streets. Things have gotten really bad when you have that much of the population actively supporting your murder.
The numbers have to come from somewhere, and we all know how good police are at making accusations against them go away.
So the reality is going to be much, much worse.
The point of an armed populace isn’t to take on the military. It’s to make every citizen a potential threat to those in power. The more you piss off the population, the greater the danger of some rando slipping through the cracks.
We just saw how much one random dude with a gun can scare the shit out of corporate America by killing an insurance executive that nonlbody had even heard of. Imagine what a million Luigis could do.
He’s not even President yet and I’m already exhausted by his administration.
s8e2 was one of the best episodes of the series. I don’t know how the same team could make that episode and the rest of the season.
Though I’ll give the finale props for the scene with Breinne writing down Jamie’s accomplishments. That was an excellent moment in an otherwise bad ending.
Sax.
It’s the devil’s instrument now that he lost his fiddle.
I don’t give a fuck about the ultra-wealthy.
But I work in municipal development and have seen first-hand how housing impacts on the wealthy trickle down and screw everyone else.
