Almost certainly true, but I wasn’t really thinking about it at the time. I picked 1 year ago because that’s when it became clear to me personally.
It’s very tragic that Ukraine’s defeat has been clearly inevitable for a year now, but all this bloodshed was necessary before the west would begin to consider peace terms.

Yes. Israel had their own token response to Iran’s token response, which was attacking like one radar installation (IIRC Hersh said the US govt negotiated down Israel’s response to that). I fear that Israel may launch a harsher reprisal
I think it is guaranteed Israel will attack Iran after this. It’s the crux of their strategic doctrine to attack at each provocation and then some, as escalation dominance is the way that they can frighten others in the region into not attacking Israel. The question is when their attack will be, how strong it will be, and what Iran’s response to that response will be.
