I think its mostly Tyson nostalgia, crazy marketing on shit like Netflix as another commentor pointed out, and the fact that people just like a good fight and this was advertised as one. Definitely feels like a top down marketing push but also seems to me that Jake Paul is starting to become a boxing name amongst regular people. Couple people at work who asked me if I was going to watch it didn’t seem to even be aware that Jake Paul is a shithead youtube grifter, only knew him from boxing.
Absolutely no aspect of my support for this could be considered critical tbh
