Carnivore Kitchen@lemmy.world•Quick Question on ButcherBox...English
21·8 months agoWe’ve had a good experience overall! ButcherBox’s grass-fed beef is definitely their strongest category — the ribeyes and strip loins are consistently well-marbled and tender, so you’re spot on there.
The ground beef and chuck roasts are also solid if you like higher-fat cuts.
We haven’t personally tried the pork options either, but other Carnies on line have mentioned the bacon and pork shoulder are decent quality if you’re not avoiding pork.
The only thing I’d say is that sometimes the steaks can vary a bit in thickness from box to box, but flavor-wise they’ve always been reliable.
Curious what other Carnies have experienced too — everyone’s box seems a little different!

3·8 months agoYou’re absolutely right, that could happen! The recipe will be amended to account for it thanks! Guess if we thought to buy an oil-less fryer that would also fix the problem huh? Ahhh, hindsight is always 20/20. Do you plan on making another fried turkey this year?

15·8 months agoWe’re actually non-political, and we are real people, not bots. Not AI and I do understand your reservations and skepticism. Reddit and other platforms have pretty much ruined it for us, spam, astroturfing, grifting, it’s bad. Real bad. We just want to build and share without the BS

25·8 months agoWe wish making a logo or a banner was that easy, we actually had to make them ourselves. Which is why we were able to change them from blue to green so quickly. Photoshop is a great tool. It’s what some, not all use.

47·8 months agoHi toothbrush, thanks for asking, no it’s not AI, we are real people and we’re just focused on building a community that’s not stuck behind a paywall like they’re threatening to do over on Reddit which is ridiculous. It’s not about “playing both sides” we’re not enemies. People who eat meat can actually be friends with and share recipes with people who are vegan, it’s not “food wars”. We just want decentralized communities we can gather in, share and learn from. !dessertkitchen[email protected] is launching soon for those who are addicted to baking sweets. It’s all love. And yes, there are other vegan communities here but we wanted to make one that is inclusive for everyone, not a “you’re behind enemy lines” group.

5·8 months agoMy default go to is my salmon recipe! I love it, super easy to make…I should post it soon. What’s your Achilles in the kitchen? For me it’s the perfect steak. I struggle😣😂! know my temps but I don’t know how to tenderize or what steaks to buy.

Yeah, overall butcherbox is a good company. If you’re not good a selecting meats yourself from a local butcher it can help you understand what cuts of meat to look for.
