Renting assuming it was exclusive and they weren’t allowed in the whole house is fine imo. It’s when the adults shared the same common areas.

Not the same thing if they object to a stranger living in their home, and you let them in anyway, they feel less safe and now if they come to you because that person does something bad you’re more likely to question whether they’re being truthful or not. It’s literally the case for so many parents who think their kids are just trying to lie to get then out the house.

It’s not that hard to wait to move them in. Let them come over for dinner or game night and let kids get comfortable and like them first.

That’s a good point, I guess I’d add that it’s fine to keep seeing them or even to allow them over for dinner or to game night, but giving children time to get to know them and like them before officially moving in.

Don’t be surprised when they don’t talk to you when grown up or ask to live with the other parent because you are prioritizing your new partner over your literal children. Also violating their consent.

Cats can’t properly digest plant matter. They have very few taste buds and no sweet receptors for a reason. They can only digest meat.

The difference is children spend 1/5 to 1/4 of their life being “not free” the animals you force to eat vegan spend their whole life stuck in that life style

Unions would be more of an outside thing where guilds would form instead to help get favorable Contracts for specific fields which would probably work better. Imagine each industry including service and retail had a “guild” that would handle contracts and decide minimums via member votes

Switzerland is probably the country most likely to leave everyone alone lol. Because they’re a direct democracy and extremely decentralized. Plus internationally neutral.

You are paying for the physical infrastructure. Your ISP connects the physical cables to your house/apartment that allow you to access the Internet. Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari… Are the digital portals to the web and search engines let you “serf” the web. We only pay for 1 service the physical. If we banned data we’d pay for at least 2 if not all 3 plus individual sites

What web browser are you using to get to this site? Unless you’re on dialup you’re accessing the Internet through a web browser that uses data to pay for the upkeep of the servers

It’s not a false dichotomy, the companies that give us access to the Internet like Google need to make money in one way or another, they sell our user data to other companies which then give targeted ads to us. If we banned the use of user data it would require a monthly subscription

We pay an ISP because they have to maintenance on a massive physical structure to keep running properly. We do not pay for the Internet, some websites charge money but Google and the general web is free to use.
