I’ve lived in the US my whole life, so I find his recognition of reality to be somewhat refreshing, even if he is an asshole.

My mom saw some BBC documentary about the horrors of Stalin (it sounded pretty muck like the passage cited above but also insinuated that Stalin murdered his wife) and while she was excitedly telling me about it I told her it sounded like bullshit and asked why Stalin would even want to do these things. She said it was probably because he wanted slaves. Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that I’m starting to notice how much western media about eastern adversaries is pure projection.

After ww2 Germany should’ve been abolished. Stalin had too much humanity and wasn’t able to make the hard but necessary decision to push on past Berlin.

It actually just occurred to me that this is the classic projection we know and love from western journalists. The war in Ukraine actually is partial scale. They’re clearly not treating Ukrainians like Afghanis or Iraqis.

This may be true in several years, but if I’m not mistaken, all sources indicate that NATO’s already been bled dry.

It looks to me (I am not a reliable source) like Russia won the war immediately. There will never be a stable, western aligned government in Ukraine again. But there will be a huge buffer zone that keeps NATO far from anything Russia considers dangerous.

I am begging liberals to articulate a plausible theory for why Russia is at war in Ukraine.
