It is not a few bad apples. The police and military are fundamentally bad as set up in most places and the US especially. There are awful people who are celebrated war heroes and highly decorated who’ve followed US law and military regulations their entire career but are still war criminals by the standards of international law. There are countless vice and drug squad police and agents who’ve never committed a corrupt act by the standards of their agency and yet they have been nothing but a disaster for the communities they operate in. ACAB. Military too.

US police and military are the absolute fucking pits and you never know how an interaction will go. Maybe great dudes who will slap you on the back. Maybe they’ll kill you and then the government will kill people who question that.

First, where previously I’d used, systemd-boot, now there’s a default choice of grub which I haven’t used in years and limine which I’d never heard of. The idea isn’t new or obscure but there is an academic source. Have you never heard of alt-right idiots complaining about soy boys? You know they are referring to men who have been emasculated because of aversion to meat and consumption of estrogen-like soy products?

Meat eating is tightly connected to manliness. Also ideas of freedom. People think doing away with meat would mean more austerity and an attack on their individuality. You could sit someone down, join the dots for them linking meat to environmental catastrophe that affects them and they will still laugh it off with a vapid joke like in the meme.

The number 0 still exists. The chart does show arbitrary values higher and lower than the line. Choosing a lower limit other than 0 is a dishonest choice. Canada won’t be as eager to take US refugees as you hope. I can’t think of a small population dealing with massive refugee inflows from a place that much larger. Think of how destabilising the refugee migrations from Syria were on Europe. Lots of LGBT and sympathetic cases of course but lots of crazy and the amount of entitlement would be overwhelming.

The rest of the industrialised worried will have angry Americans in their faces screaming about their first and second amendment rights every day if there is an exodus.

The democrats are pretty fucking bad though. Nothing like the Republicans domestically but in foreign policy, which is more relevant to us foreigners, they might be even bigger warmongers.

Why wouldn’t Canada and the rest of the world fall in step? The same environmental and economic pressures exist everywhere. Again, not as bad as in the US, but it’s going to get worse everywhere.
