Good to see another who likes Radiant Historia.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto US News@lemmygrad.ml•US teen killed parents, plotted to kill Trump and flee to UkraineEnglish111·10 days agoFUCK. I’m often deeply sympathetic to those who wish to kill their parents. So many cases of people punished for killing their abusers. But then there’s people like these.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto Comradeship // Freechat@lemmygrad.ml•So... what do we do in WW3?English5·13 days agoFair enough but with their advancing military tech, China may not even need to send soldiers out at all by the time WW3 comes.
EDIT: Saw in another one of your comments that you’re aware of the heavy investment in robots.

Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmygrad.ml•Vietnam to host China, EU leaders in coming weeks amid US tariff risks: SourcesEnglish53·18 days agoThen China and Vietnam should stop trading with the US, right?
EDIT: To the downvoters: this is a legitimate question. I would love for such trade to stop, I hear it would only cost China $500 billion. But I’m worried that them doing that would cause the US to be more forceful in trying to get their resources and I think AES states are trying to avoid that. Even if China could militarily hand the US its ass, the damage is still a concern.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mltoGames@lemmygrad.ml•The Chinese are breaching the last line of defence -- video gamesEnglish6·28 days agoI hear that video games can be art in the same way board or card games can be. Where the mechanics or challenge is the art in of itself. Like how music doesn’t need lyrics to be art.

Give me good, accommodating working conditions and a short workday and good pay while my surplus value goes to public healthcare, production, and god forbid disability in meaningful ways and I’ll gladly start putting in the work.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mltoGames@lemmygrad.ml•The Chinese are breaching the last line of defence -- video gamesEnglish10·28 days agoBut there’s also folks like this suggesting the sinister sisipee is using western games as a digital opium to pacify their disgruntled comstituents:
I have a legitimate fear that such a thing is happening in the west, but on the other hand maybe it’s for the best. The longer it takes for quality of life to fall so badly that even such “digital opium” doesn’t suffice to soften it, the weaker the declining US will be when revolution comes.

Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto Shit Reactionaries Say@lemmygrad.ml•"Ukraine is not a nazi state, Russia is"English21·1 month agoCan you be more specific? The USSR had “universal military service” in its constitution and considering who their enemies were I don’t fault them. Isn’t that “forced conscription?” Or, maybe you could argue that these are different times. After all, China doesn’t conscript but their tech is amazing.
I know that this manner of forced conscription is of an entirely different nature than what Ukraine does, or what Nazi Germany did, where people ended up arming children in desperation near the end of their reign.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto Shit Reactionaries Say@lemmygrad.ml•"Ukraine is not a nazi state, Russia is"English13·1 month agoI have a friend in the US and two in Russia who try to make these exact points, it’s frustrating.
Orcinus@lemmygrad.mlto Comradeship // Freechat@lemmygrad.ml•Is the next revolutionary wave near?English8·1 month agoNice username, it checks out.
The latter may feed into the former. The US, including I believe much of its military power, is fueled by resources it plunders from Africa. I’m hoping with the US’s weakening forces and weakening soft power, people will be more incentivized to follow suit with what’s going on in Africa (and also in South America, there may be a wave incoming there too).

Misread that as 9 out of 10 for a second and was pleasantly surprised. Wondered if they were pandering to the increasingly vocal pro-China sentiment before taking a second look.
