  • Something I wonder about when I post in threads like this is the possibility of it being sifted through one day by historians, of some sort. Whether that’s internet archivists digging around the wreckage of the old worldwide web for lost media 20 years from now, or scholars from a post-internet empire 5 centuries from now trying to salvage whatever data they can from what they view as the height of human civilisation. Just as the tiniest Roman shopping list carved onto stone would give us insight into what life was like for a distant ancestor of ours, our posts could give our descendants a glimpse into our world.

If you are a curious scholar or even a passionate amateur sifting through the digital detritus of the 2020s to learn what life was like in the leadup to the third world war, i have only one message for you: MARG BAR ISRAEL

  • Cotton scares me. he’s too much of a pencil-necked dweeb and a wet towel to stand a chance as a presidential candidate, but he would absolutely angle for a position in a far right administration, where he’d be able to do the maximum damage. he’s cruel, simple-minded, and good at appealing to other cruel and simple-minded people. its motivating paranoid white suburbanites with the promise of blood that keeps him in office, not charisma.

he’s one of the most dangerous potential figures in a second Trump administration, because he genuinely wants as much bloodshed from people he doesn’t like as possible, and is willing to break all political/social norms to make sure it happens.

  • i have a very bad feeling that this thread is going to break 2k comments.

i am trying to find a way to lay out all the thoughts in my head without it feeling like i’m using the news mega as a journal. but the agony of knowing that courses have already been decided on, and a manmade monster of gunpowder and blood looms over us, waiting to feed…i’m mortified. the potential for things to escalate even further out of control has never felt this strong. Iran’s next move feels like watching someone pull out the last jenga block on that layer, hoping the structure can reconstitute itself when the top half drops down a story. but the blocks are made of plastic explosives.
