The court ruled specifically on the stay. The case itself is still before lower courts.
Yeah, this is what’s primarily happening. A third-party imports the chips to a random country for [perfectly valid use], then resells them to Russia at a markup. It’s one of the reasons you see more and more sanctions packages. Some of those are sanctioning perpetrators of industrial level sanctions evasion as described here.
And while you can never stop it, driving up the price and reducing supply to Russia is helpful. Particularly when paired with lethal aid to Ukraine.
But will it continue to be your last post in the future? Or is it simply your last post at this moment?
The whiplash with Trump is awful. It’s a bit easier if you zoom out a bit, it is clear he is significantly less pro-Ukraine than Biden. But I think even Trump can’t decide if he is pro-Putin or not. I think part of it is Putin simply doesn’t want to kiss the ring, while Zelensky holds his ground, but does what is necessary to save his country and people.
My take: a person made a cool product, wants to make more but doesn’t have more actionable ideas. And, due to this only making some money on the side, an off-the-shelf storefront was chosen that supports selling more than one thing.
I found if the pot makes solid contact with the electric elements the electric can actually heat up water faster than gas. But if the bottom of your pan isn’t flat or the element is warped, they are really, really, really slow.
My experience has been with gas (fast), electric resistive with exposed and warped elements (slow), electric resistive with a glass top (fastest).
If it gets more people buying them, yeah, will absolutely increase the economies of scale and push down prices. Though that will likely take a bit. That said, the $200 tax is already gone, so that has already dropped the final price with taxes.
Seems the silencer shops haven’t updated.
Probably something you can fix in-person at the shop. Most gun stores aren’t super speedy with updating their POS software.
Yep, but not necessarily even that much. Releasing the server software as a compiled binary would fit the bill as well.
How I read this: ‘This legislation would make putting lead sweetener in wine very difficult’
The removal of the $200 tax for suppressors, SBRs is a very welcome change for the firearms community. Hoping to see the lawsuit here completely kill this portion of the NFA.
Putting hearing safety equipment behind such large barriers has always been asinine.
followed by (unless you’ve been very very careful) a total lack of anything productive for 95% of any of those people to do for the forseeable future
It amazes me these game companies putting out game after game don’t simply reassign these people to a future game. These are your seasoned veterans, they know how to do their job. Laying them off and picking up newbies just sets you up for a rocky future.
Had a look at Offbrand Games’ games and none of them have recent review bombs. I really have no clue what PirateSoftware is talking about.
I’m not surprised he was pushed out for fear of such review bombs, but I’m not seeing any evidence of them actually existing as he alleges.
FTA: The standard income deduction has been increased for seniors such that 90% will have their Social Security income completely covered by the deduction, meaning they won’t pay taxes on that income.
Edit: Crossed out a word.
Smaller studios have been consistently putting out good games as of late anyway. Indy and AA studios have the freedom to make fun things instead of having to check every box on a spreadsheet.
Linux isn’t stable enough to do production work
Linux runs most of the world’s servers. It’s pretty damn stable. One of the reasons it is generally chosen over Windows for servers is specifically because of its stability.
I’m not telling you to use it, mostly just this concept of instability is off.
According to Steam: in the last 3 years there has been 150% growth in Linux users
Steam deck.
The Steam deck is less than 10% of Steam’s linux installs. It identifies as Arch, and that category also includes Arch, which is a popular distro in general. The 150% growth in Linux users is certainly helped by the Steam Deck, but it isn’t the primary growth driver. People are simply using Linux more and more as Linux continues to improve and Windows backslides.
From Steam’s hardware survey:
you can safely use Windows 10 PCs connected to the internet for the next decade.
Do not, absolutely do not, hook an OS that is no longer receiving security updates to the internet. Out-of-date machines can get pwned simply by being on a network or loading a website’s ad, no user interaction required. Vulnerabilities are discovered, never patched, and thereafter every script kiddy can get into the old machines with little effort.
Yeah, they are still on the NFA. So all other rules around them apply, such as the application process with the ATF, fingerprinting, etc.
The other commenter mentioned above that this does open legal challenges against this portion of the NFA, however. As gun registries are illegal and if this is no longer a receipt of tax payments…
Yeah, I’m confused on what else the Pentagon would be spending money on.
