It was a hard weekend. Your voice is still sore and the eyes crusty from nonstop modding in the Modding fight-thousand jam (mjfk for short), but you have work to do. Your feet find their way to your desk in the living room and you turn your laptop on. The coffee frees your eyes, but your ears are still behind on schedule. A strange voice is somewhere. That is weird, you don’t have any music on your headphones. You take them off and immediately hear a loud banging wound from your kitchen. Plates are breaking, even the wooden table sells to get destroyed. You are awake immediately and sprint there, seeing an immensely muscular man fight a snake bodied abomination. They are wrecking your kitchen as you stand there watching them. A poison spit only barely misses you, as the snake body flies through your living room wall. The lifeless body lies there, the big man walks over and just rips its head clean off. You hear that voice again, now very clearly saying “BRUTALITY”.

I read “car” instead of cat and it changes the meaning quite a bit.

The whole room now notices the tragedy, as the rocket misses its target.

A giant explosion fills the screen and my only thought is “Hopefully it changed directions far enough.”

Is this somehow loss again?

I mean you do you, but having a “!=” become a “≠” is kinda nice, as are some other = symbols like >= becoming ≥ etc.

Most fonts also allow you to turn of groups of ligatures, that you don’t like. E.g. I never liked “/>” becoming a combined character.

So I don’t see the hate about “fixed width ligatures”.

Okay, that is fair, but since I also program in terminals using held in or (neo)vim, ligatures are a must have for me.

Plus some nerd fonts even upgrade regular loading animations of some cli-tools.

Imagine having only one big task (displaying text) and not even supporting ligatures.

To be fair, real proofreading is no easy task. You need someone proficient in that field of study to really do that, but as recent AI-escapades showed, none of those publishers do that anymore.

I absolutely hate people naming their program with a word that existed before. At least call it Allpaca ffs. How should I search for errors or stuff in general?
