Carlos needs to get a grip on his lapses in quality. Damn difficult to watch him not knowing when it will come up. Otherwise he’s a genuine pleasure to watch him when he’s firing on all cylinders. Vamos!

So far Carlos hasn’t disappointed when big moments came. The same can’t be said about Zverev. If Zverev played as usual he would probably have won this game. Carlos was in beast mode though so it’s hard to say fr. If this guy can contain his injuries he’ll certainly be one of the best players of all time

Zverev is in the same group as tsitsipas, rublev, rune, shapo, etc. In that they are temperamental, spoilt and ugle attitude asf when they came.on the tour. Some, e.g rune, shapo, tsitsipas seem to be maturing out of it. Carlos tends to ride the positive wave until he starts to overhit and make errors when he doesn’t need to. Also prone to outbursts of frustration from time to time when down on form. Hope he comes out of it, esp against players like sinner, who seem to be consistent throughout. Otherwise the rivalry will be anything but.

Very happy about the result but it was a case of winning “ugly”. So many ups and downs in the match. Carlos really needs to work on his serve. Zverez had no energy left at the end. He lost even though he had like 75% of first serves in. If he can’t win with those numbers I don’t think he will ever win one. He was talking about his conditioning in the press conference but he seems oblivious to the fact that Carlos and Sinner are much younger than him. He will never have an advantage in that department. Now onto the grass court season!

Ya. I felt zverev had an edge early on. It was a case of managing for Carlos. But he seemed to find another gear, esp in the last set. Impressed that he got very tactical in the last 2 sets, and seemed to throw z off his rhythm.

      Grass season, let’s gooooo!
