BREAKING: Scott Ritter’s passport was just seized by the US State Department after boarding a flight to a conference in St. Petersburg.
This follows actions against other independent journalists and media outlets, including InfoWars.
Are we witnessing the fall of freedom?
Ritter is a former UN weapons inspector and RT writer known for criticizing the US State Department and Pentagon.
We have major differences in how we see the world.
I am highly criticial of smears against people that do not follow the status quo, even more of gov’t and three letter agencies that have more power than our elected officials, owned and bought by the owner class.
But it is your right, if you do not want to question and if you just want to believe the status quo and thier smears, as most working class unfortunately do, to a certain degree.
Pointing out, before the tangent, the main problem shown in the post was glossed over just as the status quo intendent.
Gov’t and their ilk continue to infringe on the rights of Americans, and much worse, I hope next time you may think differently and start to question and be more criticial of the status quo.
While I don’t really trust the US government, I’d say I trust Mr. Ritter even less. Whatever this “conference” in St. Petersburg is about, you can safely assume that it will be riddled with Russian propaganda.
So he is going to visit a conference in a regime that invaded another country… That doesn’t look suspicious at all.
Americans, as far as I know, are free to go to any country and talk with any person, as long as no ‘laws’ are broken.
When has it become a crime to speak with those that we do not agree with…
You may have fallen for a trick that the status quo likes to put the working class into, where we close ourselves from those that may not agree or think like we do, being in politicial or tribal bubbles is not healthy or good for humans.

I acknowledge that I may be tricked or fall for ‘misinformation’, but I try really hard to learn and to continue to speak with people that do not think or agree with my way of viewing the world.

I use twitter as a way to share information people on lemmy would not see, while also being another social media where influential and people with power share news.
Feel free to be highly criticial and I encourage you to post information that debunks my posts in any community I manage!
