A candidate for West Virginia secretary of state is hospitalized for copperhead snake bites sustained while he was removing election campaign signs.

“I told you not to tread on me”, snake said to reporters after the incident. “There are, like, signs everywhere. I even made them yellow. Jeez, what else do I have to do?”
