The libs are in overdrive on this one, despite the fact that he was clearly talking about an economic bloodbath, specifically in the car industry. And naturally, it’s going to backfire on them as Trump supporters and campaigns run it again and again and again as typical ‘fake news’. But they literally can’t help themselves, especially their only electoral strategy is to keep repeating that Trump is the apocolypse incarnate.
I think a lot can and has changed since '22 - Biden’s decline, worsening economy, can’t blame Covid for everything, genocide/new unpopular wars, fading memory of Jan 6th hysteria - but you might well be right. I don’t pretend even spend much time thinking about American electoralism, never mind be an expert in it. I’m just amazed by how thin and clumsy it is, especially when libs in my orbit are saying ‘oh yeah, it’s a bit much, he’s bad enough already’.

Running on democracy and against Trump got Dems the best midterms results in modern history, but go off.

I’m pretty sure the Dobbs decision did that, actually.
Sure glad we never do this exact same thing with our agitprop
