Honestly, Chicago gets a bit of an undeserved reputation that realllllllllyyyyyyy reeks of white supremacist rhetoric and the entire idea that “We let the blacks have the city and they turned it into a shithole”. Most of it is really beautiful with incredibly unique architecture, pretty good city planning, museums, restaurants, apartments… and just life?

Plus the city is really gentrified and expensive. You won’t really find those meme “rundown abandoned” areas unless you really look hard. It did have a period of significant downturn in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s, but it’s bounced back hard.

Now if you want a REAL dystopia, look no further then Gary Indiana, any city in the south, LA, or 94% of the United States.
