Anyone have experience with trade-in for Samsung? I have a tab s7 and it looks pretty much perfect except around the port because I don’t look where I plug 🥲.

Any ideas if this would disqualify the trade in, if there’s any way to polish it back up, or how people usually prevent this in the first place?

I’m actually not sure how much they care other than it works, is not software locked, and the glass and frame isn’t cracked. I’ve traded in perfect devices and sometimes it’ll go through fine and other times I’ll have to contact support and it usually goes like:

Hey I traded in my device and you’re charging me back

Ok one moment… Ok we’re cancelling the charge back thank you.

    Ok cool thank you

    And everything is fine.

I did a trade in with my last phone. I purchased directly from Samsung and they had a good sale. The trade in was for any samsung phone and you would get top dollar. My screen was smashed, and so was the glass in the back, it was also like 3 years old already but they still gave me like $400 for it. The only question asked was if the glass was broken or not, if it wasn’t it got top dollar. Based off that I think you will be more than fine getting the max they offer for it.

I brought my iPhone 8 for trade in when I got my S23. I went to a Samsung store, and I told them I had a trade-in device, they took it inspected it quickly and told me it looks good and that I could reset it. Then they just applied the discount to the price and that was it. My iphone was not perfect, it had about 5 years so it was a bit scuffed but no cracks or heavy scratches.

Usually they have information on the website about what specific qualities impact trade in value. I was under the impression that with most devices you get full trade in value if your device is both fully functional and does not have a cracked screen but ymmv
