A sad day for cricket fans
What a damn, damn shame
As much as I respect his decision and follow his logic, I’m not sure I fully understand it from an outsiders perspective.
He’s had a long and storied career and good luck to him!
Was there another reason he gave beyond wanting to be with his family? Didn’t really see anything else in the Cricinfo article.
To paraphrase, he wanted to finish on a high, at a big test with a home crowd. He went on to say how happy he is with the team and it sounded like he wants this team to be his last memory playing.
Seems fair enough except for the finishing on a high wrt this test I suspect, but maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Surprise!
Nah not surprised at all, I knew good ol’ England could do it ;)
At least Jimmy’s gonna be taking scalps till he’s 50.
He’d make a good commentator.
