I tried to get into touch with neonfire a month or two back about just updating the sidebar with some other Cincy related communities but never heard back. I don’t know that there is much modding that really needs done but it probably would be a good idea to have at least more than 1 person modding this and some active people nonetheless (neonfire’s last post was like 6 months ago.)
Not sure how much work it is. I “mod” the Cincy Beer community (join us! - https://lemmy.world/c/cincinnatibeer ) but it really doesn’t seem to take much. I’m not sure of the process but I believe if neonfire has left the world admins have a way to delegate new mods.
Other communities while we’re here-
Sports
- Reds on lemmy.world
- Reds on fanaticus.social with game thread bots
- FCC on lemmy.world
- UC on fanaticus.social
- Bengals on fanaticus.social
- Bengals on lemmy.world

@curve I am willing to help, but I haven’t been a mod before. Not sure how it works.
Neither have I 😁
I still don’t know what all there is to do as I have not had to really do anything on the 1-2 I “mod.”
If you guys are good with it, I’ll create a post in this community - https://lemmy.world/c/support which apparently is the formal way to request ownership of a community. Just the fact that people would be active and looking at this community would help if nothing else. Or rather- I guess you guys could create a post. Either way.
I am OK with this. With our powers combine, maybe we can figure out what the hell to do.
@curve it occurs to me now that it might not let me, since I’m posting from outside lemmy.world. I might have to create an account there.
@curve well, according to this, moderation can be done over federation too. Nice.
I mean, I don’t want to mod, but I will if you need help

Evidently the ticket was handled and we (somehow I was looped in) are all mods.
I have the power!
@curve oh, cool. I think I’m going to need to create a lemmy.world account in addition to this one. I don’t think there is a way to log into Lemmy using an existing mastodon account; just commenting and favoriting are federated.
@curve ok, now I’m @[email protected] too
