Tactics used to censor the teaching of American history in Florida schools bear much in common with those seen in the illiberal democracies of Israel, Turkey, Russia and Poland.
I think it’s more likely that, seeing as how they’ve probably gotten proper history education (unlike many of the rest of us) they know full well what does and doesn’t work, and are repeating a pattern that will give them what they want.
Just a point, I didn’t say “real education,” I said “proper education” qualified with a topic (history) that is taught to wildly varying degrees around the country.
