It is important to underscore that the commission of genocide has nothing to do with the number of civilian casualties; the key element of the crime is the need to possess relevant “intent.” Whatever criticism one may have of Israeli policies or Israel Defense Forces (IDF) actions in Gaza, Israel is not seeking to destroy the Palestinian people, whether in whole, in part, or in any manner.

    Too bad we don’t have mind-reading technology, I guess we can therefore never know who is doing genocide and who is just killing indiscriminately a specific population

      There’s been enough members of the Israeli state that have expressed a very clear intent.

      But yeah, The Hill seems to be implying that the massive civilian casualties are ok because “it’s not genocide”.

        Do they really think all of the bombs going off are on accident? If so, perhaps one should question whether giving so many rockets to irresponsible military organizations like the IDF.
