King Country shearer Sacha Bond has taken out a world record by becoming the first woman to shear more than 700 sheep in a nine-hour day.
Bond smashed the current record of 661 with a total of 720 at Centre Hill in Southland on Tuesday.
Shearing a lamb every 45 seconds, she also became the first woman to shear 700 sheep in a day.
She’s not just a machine she’s a dam factory
I wonder how your back is after 9 hours of shearing…
Wow, that’s a huge jump! Not just beating it by a handful…
Yikes. That’s like an average of 45 seconds per sheep. I’m going to add her to my list of people I’m going to arm wrestle when I meet them: Valerie Adams, Lisa Carrington, and now Sacha Bond.
I’m a bit worried.
Congrats NZ, you guys seem to really know your way around a sheep.
… and in so many ways!
45 seconds per sheep 😳
